Best Way To Enjoy Your Treatment

So we have a new month, a new beginning, beautiful new therapy room, and finally, the whole new level of relaxation! The move has been hectic and at times outright stressful, but it was definitely worth it. I can't wait to welcome you to the new era of Maya's Healing Hands and offer you your favourite treatment in a new massage heaven.

Now let me help you make the most out of your treatment. Here is a list of 10 best pieces of advice to enjoy your treatment to the fullest potential.

1. Prepare and research

Make sure you know where you're going, where is the nearest car park and have some change ready, think about time of the day and traffic patterns. It is going to save you being all stressed out and sweaty coming to your clinic

2. Wear comfortable clothes

There is nothing worse than feeling constricted for an hour, or worrying about creasing your best work skirt.

3. Be 10 minutes early

The best piece of advice I guess. Aiming to be a few minutes early gives you a great advantage, you have a bit of spare time to get lost, stuck in traffic or deal with unexpected circumstances. This way you can stay calm and collected even before your treatment, and it is much easier for you to relax and enjoy yourself.

4. Silence your phone

Even the awareness of your phone not being switched to the silent mode can nag in the back of your mind, and you spend more time than necessary thinking about what if someone rings you, or who are you expecting an email from. Get rid of it and clear your mind!

5. Drop your jewellery

You don't want to feel like you are being strangled by your necklace or get your wrist watch soaked in oil. Plus if too much of your body is covered up by jewellery and accessories, you are really missing out, because your therapist might be avoiding the areas to protect your bling from getting dirty.

6. Use the bathroom

Just make sure you are totally comfortable before your treatment starts. You don't want to get up and go halfway through the treatment or tense up and hold on till the end. You are doing this to relax, so don't ruin it for yourself.

7. Don't help your therapist

We are all used to being in control, and having a treatment, you might be tempted to lift your arms or legs and actively take part in the stretches and bends, but that is not necessarily helping. your muscles and joins get the most benefit if they relax completely and let the treatment do it's best.

8. Share your feelings

We are all different and perceive the same event in slightly different ways. If the towel is pressing into your forehead, or your left shoulder is too sensitive, it can all be adjusted. There is always a ton of towels and blankets to keep you warm, so there is no need for you to freeze to death. Some of this invisible stuff is so easy to correct, so don't waste your treatment by not being 100% comfortable.

9. Book your next one

You are more likely to stick to your goals if you plan ahead. It doesn't matter if it is next week, next month or in 6 weeks time, just go with what works best for you. With the next treatment booked in, you will have something to look forward to and even more unpleasant chores will seem easier, as you have a great reward coming up soon.

10. Ease into the rest of the day

Try to plan ahead and do all the unpleasant tasks before your treat. You don't want to rush into the stress and madness straight after you have had a lovely relaxing treatment. Fill the rest of the day with all the pleasant and fun things to keep you in the positive mood, and you will be more likely to bring the good feeling into the next day, or maybe even week.
