So we have a new month, a new beginning, beautiful new therapy
room, and finally, the whole new level of relaxation! The move has been hectic
and at times outright stressful, but it was definitely worth it. I can't wait
to welcome you to the new era of Maya's Healing Hands and offer you your
favourite treatment in a new massage heaven.
Now let me help you make the most out of your treatment. Here is a
list of 10 best pieces of advice to enjoy your treatment to the fullest
1. Prepare and research
Make sure you know where you're going, where is the nearest car
park and have some change ready, think about time of the day and traffic
patterns. It is going to save you being all stressed out and sweaty coming to
2. Wear comfortable clothes
There is nothing worse than feeling constricted for an hour, or
worrying about creasing your best work skirt.
3. Be 10 minutes early
The best piece of advice I guess. Aiming to be a few minutes early
gives you a great advantage, you have a bit of spare time to get lost, stuck in
traffic or deal with unexpected circumstances. This way you can stay calm and
collected even before your treatment, and it is much easier for you to relax
and enjoy yourself.
4. Silence your phone
Even the awareness of your phone not being switched to the silent
mode can nag in the back of your mind, and you spend more time than necessary
thinking about what if someone rings you, or who are you expecting an email
from. Get rid of it and clear your mind!
5. Drop your jewellery
You don't want to feel like you are being strangled by your
necklace or get your wrist watch soaked in oil. Plus if too much of your body
is covered up by jewellery and accessories, you are really missing out, because
your therapist might be avoiding the areas to protect your bling from getting
6. Use the bathroom
Just make sure you are totally comfortable before your treatment
starts. You don't want to get up and go halfway through the treatment or tense
up and hold on till the end. You are doing this to relax, so don't ruin it for
7. Don't help your
We are all used to being in control, and having a treatment, you
might be tempted to lift your arms or legs and actively take part in the
stretches and bends, but that is not necessarily helping. your muscles and
joins get the most benefit if they relax completely and let the treatment do
8. Share your feelings
We are all different and perceive the same event in slightly
different ways. If the towel is pressing into your forehead, or your left
shoulder is too sensitive, it can all be adjusted. There is always a ton of
towels and blankets to keep you warm, so there is no need for you to freeze to
death. Some of this invisible stuff is so easy to correct, so don't waste your
treatment by not being 100% comfortable.
9. Book your next one
You are more likely to stick to your goals if you plan ahead. It
doesn't matter if it is next week, next month or in 6 weeks time, just go with
what works best for you. With the next treatment booked in, you will have
something to look forward to and even more unpleasant chores will seem easier,
as you have a great reward coming up soon.
10. Ease into the rest of
Try to plan ahead and do all the unpleasant tasks before your
treat. You don't want to rush into the stress and madness straight after you
have had a lovely relaxing treatment. Fill the rest of the day with all the
pleasant and fun things to keep you in the positive mood, and you will be more
likely to bring the good feeling into the next day, or maybe even week.

You might be wondering, where have I been for the past half a year. Well, I am really sorry to have neglected my sharing and caring duties, I have kind of gone into a total overload mode. When you want things to work, you tend to do anything and everything, and sometimes way too much of it. That was more or less working all right, until I got a first proper wave of work (the real kind, that I was meant for). Suddenly I ended up in a headless chicken mode, with too many projects started, too many to do lists and too little time to keep the piles shrinking.
So I have dealt with it in my very typical way, just ''set it on fire'' and walked away. Don't panic, not literally. I have just dropped all the non-essential activities, and cracked on with the basics, until I have created comfortable space to stand up, stretch out and look around. It did help, of course, to de-clutter and re-organise my space, as much personal as professional. When you get fed up and act on this impulse, sometimes you lose great stuff that used to work, and that is what happened to my blogging posting and sharing.
The massive de-clutter is over, and we have been through a little bit of a re-branding to keep it fresh for you. You might notice things will be changing in next few weeks, so that we can start the New Year 2017 with a total face-lift from the inside out.
We are back to a lovely system where everything has it's time and place, so you will hear from me a lot more regularly, probably every month. I am kind of scared to promise after these six months of silence, but I will do my best :)
Well, bear with me, hope I keep entertaining and educating you throughout the year, and please, if you do spot something that can be improved, do let me know, I will really appreciate all kinds of creative ideas and gratefully accept any kind of inspiration.
So welcome back to my world, the hard work has paid off, and we can see the blossoms of that effort already :-)
and see you soon.

Hello there beautiful people!
I got an interesting question recently. ''Haven’t you put on
a bit of weight since I’ve seen you last time (almost 5 years ago)?'' Obviously
at the time I went into automatic self-defence mode, and it made me look into
the mirror once or twice. And then it hit me!
Is this what we need young girls to feel like? I am a grown
up woman, and I have done a whole lot of personal re-development in last few
years. I would say I am pretty happy with who I am now, and where I am heading.
I do work that I absolutely love, I get at least 7 hours of good sleep every
night, I eat regularly, and I choose the best of what my body needs. I do have
a walk every day, I play squash or tennis 4 times a week, with people who like
me for who I am.
My BMI and weight are still in the lower bit of HEALTHY
levels, but most of the days I do manage to hit the amount of calories to keep
my body happy and fully functional. I get on with loads of work, and I take on
any new challenge I find interesting and fun.
Would I swap with my 24 year old me? Let me tell you that I
would NEVER! This poor kid had just started exploring her own qualities and
values, after years of being trapped in soul destroying job, constantly
punishing her body for not measuring up to other people’s expectations, not
even realizing, how many dreams and desires she still had.
No, I would never want
to be seriously underweight again. And I wouldn’t want to be 18, and I
wouldn’t want to be getting up in the middle of the night again, to go to work
I don’t enjoy anymore. And no, I wouldn’t want to have my friends that left me
when I needed them.
And I honestly don’t think I should want any of those
things. There is no way to send a grown-up back to nursery, just because they
were a lot cuter back then, and when we outgrow our former self, we should feel
free to enjoy who we became, without having to find excuse.
So what I would say to the young, the old, the pregnant, the retired and all the other girls don’t let anyone destroy your self-love. Most people’s reality
is constantly being distorted by ads, magazines, Barbie dolls and half naked
music videos, so we can’t blame them for not recognizing a real human body when
they see one.
I will be re-launching my old good Facebook group ''https://www.facebook.com/groups/supportinglove/'', and I would love you all to join in and have lots of fun.
We will just get together and support each other in what we like to do. We will
play loads of games, do sports together, organize days out, and explore stuff
we haven’t tried yet. So join in and let’s keep all our changes positive ;)
